Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Ask For Donations to Charity Fighting Plastic Pollution As Wedding Gift
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whose Royal Wedding will take place on May 19, 2018 at Windsor Castle in England, have announced a list of charities they would like their well-wishers to donate to instead of buying gifts. Among the seven charities, the couple has listed the organization Surfers Against Sewage – a national marine conservation and campaigning charity fighting plastic pollution.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle are incredibly grateful for the goodwill shown to them since the announcement of their engagement and are keen that as many people as possible benefit from this generosity of spirit,” says the official Royal Wedding website. The organizations that found their way onto the list were personally selected by the couple and reflect the issues they are passionate about and their shared values. Many of the chosen charities are small groups whose work will receive significant publicity and support thanks to the decision.
